President – Md Toufiqul Islam

Md Toufiqul Islam is a software engineer, graduated from Tennessee Technological University. He has extensive experience leading and supporting community organizations, with a strong commitment to unity, inclusion, and responsible service. Known for his professionalism and collaborative leadership, he actively contributes to strengthening the Bangladeshi-American community. In his personal time, he enjoys fishing, cricket, and table tennis.

Vice President – Dr. Kamrul Hasan

Kamrul Hasan is an academician and researcher at Tennessee State University, and a strong supporter of advancing knowledge, culture, and community well-being. He likes to explore emerging technologies for human benefit and community resilience. As a BAN Executive Committee Member, he promotes Bangla heritage, inclusivity, sports, and unity within the Tennessee Bangladeshi community.

General Secretary – Dr. Md Abdul Momin

Md Abdul Momin (Sumon) is an Assistant Professor at Tennessee Tech University, dedicated to fostering student success and advancing meaningful scholarly work. He will serve as Secretary of BAN, supporting community engagement and strengthening collaborative programs. Known for his reliability and commitment, he works to create opportunities that unite people and promote shared growth. Beyond his professional and volunteer roles, he enjoys reading, playing tennis, watching cricket, and taking long drives with his family.

Treasurer – Dr. Saad Haider

Saad Haider is a Data Science and Artificial Intelligence professional with a passion for leadership and community engagement. He served as President of Association of Bangladeshi Students
and Scholars and as an elected council member for Graduate School Advisory Council at Texas Tech University. Saad is deeply committed to fostering unity, respect, inclusion and financial transparency within the organizations he supports. Beyond professional life, he enjoys traveling, reflecting his passion for diverse experiences and meaningful connections.

Cultural Secretary – Planning – Dr. Sajid Noor

Sajid Noor is an academician and research professor at Tennessee State University. He is passionate about Bangladeshi heritage. He is also active in various sports such as cricket, badminton, and table tennis. He is blessed with vocal strength for Bangla songs. As the cultural secretary of BAN, Dr. Noor wants to continue spreading Bangla culture among Nashvillians.

Cultural Secretary – Engagement – Ms. Benita Zinia

Ms Benita Zinia graduated from Lalmatia Mohila College, Dhaka in Sociology. She is passionate about building strong and close communities, actively looks for ways to bring people together. Her diverse experiences have helped shape her appreciation for connection, culture, and shared spaces. In her free time, she enjoys singing and traveling.

Media & Communication Director – Feroze Rashid

Feroze Rashid was born and raised in Chattogram, Bangladesh and came to USA about a decade ago. He calls Nashville home for several years now and loves the city and its people. He lives in Bellevue with his wife Shamim and two kids: Arshi and Faiyaz. He is a hobby woodworker, amateur boatbuilder, and DIY enthusiast. He is passionate about an inclusive and equal society. He looks into the past to find inspiration for the future. His favorite philosophy: “there are multiple possible solutions to a single problem”.

Community Outreach & Youth Engagement Director – Dr. Md. Ali Haider

Md. Ali Haider is a faculty member at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. Rooted in technology and
education, he remains deeply committed to strengthening unity within the Bangladeshi community. He is
committed to build engaging, supportive, and collaborative spaces. Haider believes that with shared commitment and collective effort, the community can grow stronger and create lasting impact for future
generations. He likes to watch cricket, soccer, and loves road trips/traveling.

Their collective vision and leadership pave the way for a vibrant and inclusive Bangladeshi diaspora in Nashville, enriching the cultural tapestry of the city and creating lasting bonds of friendship and solidarity.
